  • That means people with blue faces in any Youtube video. This is a known issue that appears because some color channels are swapped in videos. I'm aware the root of this issue is disputed between flash, the Nvidia driver and VDPAU. You can read more about this here.
The reason I'm starting this thread is that all other major browsers seem to have this issue sorted out somehow. This bug only appears in Opera now and strangely, only in videos watched on Embeded clips look just fine. Is there any way to get rid of this bug? And I don't mean by disabling hardware acceleration or by uninstalling VDPAU - these are not acceptable solutions to a problem that now appears to only affect Opera in linux.

I am running Opera 12.16 x86_64 on Ubuntu 12.04 64bit. But I've had this isssue with earlier versions of Opera on earlier versions of Ubuntu (32 and 64bit) with various Nvidia driver versions and different flash versions. So the only constant seems to be Opera on linux.

  • Thanks for your answer, GwenDragon. This setting doesn't seem to have anything to do with it, hardware acceleration is already disabled in Opera.
There's still the hardware acceleration setting in flash but, as I said, I do not want to remove such an important feature globally to solve an issue that only happens in Opera.
