Restoration of a session takes too long

Hi. I'm running v. 12.16, build 1860 on Debian x86_64, 3.14-2-amd64.
'Preferences / History / Advanced / Check if cached pages is updated on the server' is set to 'Never', still Opera tries to load some pages for several minutes or more while restoring a session. Finaly it usually fails to load these pages, probably because they weren't cached properly. And this is being offline. Beeing online it seems to load all restoring tabs from the Internet.
Could it be set that no page is loaded from the Internet if not refreshed manually? And could the period of time while Opera tries to load a page be shortened?
