Please Let Me Disable Suggestions in the Dropdown List of the Address Bar

I'm using Opera v.66 under Ubuntu 16.04. Whenever anything is typed into the address bar, a dropdown list appears with mostly-irrevalent URL's, including bookmarks. It's highly-annoying and very disruptive.
Having searched the forum for solutions, others have complained about this "feature", to no avail.
In the next upgrade, Please Let Us Disable Suggestions in the Dropdown List of the Address Bar
