Free WiFi login gives Certificate error(s)

When I try to connect to a Free WiFi service (UK Premier Inn, Surrey Libraries, Chef & Brewer) I get 'Webpage not available' then get told Certificate error, make sure time & date are correct.
I've tried both auto & manual date settings with no difference.
If I use Google Chrome it connects OK to free WIFI service, and once connection is made then I can use Opera with no issues, but if I disconnect, then try to reconnect I get exactly the same situation.
I could revert to Chrome but prefer Opera so if anyone can suggest why this happens, great!
