I'm still using 12.14, mainly because of M2 and the ability to set my own custom default search engine. With the personal customisation that Presto Opera offers as icing on the cake.

Oh, and the fact that it still works with every web site I care to visit. If a site does actually fail to work for me in 12.14, then that site gets crossed of the list of sites 'fit for purpose' and an alternative working site is found. Works for me. 🙂

EDIT: I do occasionally use/test the Developers build, and keep it up to date, just to see how things are progressing in the world of Blink Opera. But 12.14 will still be my default and most used browsers till I decide otherwise.

Leushino, my friend, you are obviously correct regarding 'other peoples' computers. But...in OUR case, I have to 'lead' her along. Been that way for a long time. I mean a LONG time. A REAL LONG...time And, she has never actually slugged me! With 'others', you're spot on, Amigo............

Years ago, I always used Opera and found it fast. But I moved on. Downloading this newest version left me tattered and torn. It's like taking the steering wheel, the odometer and a floor mat out of ones' car. Why do these dudes do this? It's taking what used to be a good product (now watch your temper leushino) and stripping it down just so we can't use it.
I'm convinced Opera will bring back the Menu Bar in the not too distant future, or they'll have one person (leushino) using it. Thumbs up all. 🙂

No rage here, belinderope. You might consider taking your own advice on the calming tea since you mention feeling all "tattered and torn" after downloading the newest version of Opera. It would appear that you're far more in need of your advice than I. As for being convinced that "Opera will bring back the Menu Bar" or only "one person" (yours truly) will be using it - uh - I think you'd better rethink that ill-considered prognostication. So, you "just can't use" the current browser since it is too stripped down... right? Then stick with Presto and be happy. As for me (and I know of many others who feel the same), I'm sold on the new browser and I invite you to open up your mind... try to adapt... and see for yourself that with a little exploring of the extensions, you can set up Opera to pretty much do whatever needs doing. AND... it's getting better all the time. Don't worry - Be happy.

LOL... I only mentioned that because years ago (I think it was back when Windows 98 first appeared), I installed Netscape on my wife's computer while she was at work. I had to dodge bullets when she returned and discovered what I had done (with the best of intentions, mind you). It taught me a bitter lesson: if I want peace in this household, I must keep my grubby hands off my wife's computer!

The English word time has a bit different meanings in different contexts: like "This time I did it well." and "At that time I was at home." 😛

So then, who in the name of Firefox is joshlinux or linexjosh? You guys (or women or things) seem to be working like the latest version of Opera.

Bravo! I applaud you on your willingness to try it once more. Here's the thing I've found. It took me a few days of using nothing but the new browser to finally adapt to it. Initially I was tempted to give up, but with some advice from others and a scouring of both the Opera and Chrome extension stores, I was able to find what I needed to make the browser work for me. And now I love it. Granted, my needs are few and it may be that you find yourself missing some things from the Presto version that you can't seem to live without so I can't speak for you (or anyone else for that matter). Take care (and bottoms up on the tea!). 🙂

Still waiting for a extension for "Hold right button, roll mouse wheel" that also includes a working tab list. None in the store currently works.

Leushino... Yup, a fair chunk of Married Blitz...The problem I have with her is that she took me to heart back around OPERA 10, and used "Control D ...Enter" a LOT. When the list got bigger and bigger I went into the BM Manager and created a bunch of sub folder groupings. I didn't know with '24' that whilst the Importer brought BM's in subfolders IN... they all went IN the Speed Dial bunch individually, not grouped. Fortunately in MY computer I only had four or five subfolders and when I figured out how to group the S/D panels into pseudo folders I had no problem. With HER that Importer would have to order in Pizza for all the time it would take... and then Old Gizmo here would have to sort 'em out. Talking her into some BonZo Search and Destroy in her 12.17 BMs first. But I'm damned sure not going to trade her in for a New Model! After all, she's survived me.....if it was 'private' I'd tell you how long....

                                            Cheers 'n' Beers
