You can make yourself a custom html with certain bookmarks, place it as a bookmark in your Opera, then one click - open the html bookmark, the other - "Open with..." there.

This is interesting. But how to conveniently update it daily? Is it easy to add more to it quickly?

I hate the new Opera, it's faster, but i really miss some of the old features that made me choose Opera. I installed some extensions and unistalled in a few seconds because they all came with extra shit you don't want like register on 3rd party sites, advertise, etc.

New version is more compatible, but less usable.

            Everything is buried or missing.

There isn't a history back button, I need to go back through every page.
There isn't a dedicated stop button or a way to make one.
The wands missing, so I have to go through the web page and find the button that submits the form.
Can't enable the title bar so I have to search each page to figure out if I'm on the right forum thread.
There is no easy way to switch through different useragent strings.
There is no way to change settings for each individual site.
There is no dedicated search, search string is replaced with URL.
There is no way to display details in the download bar, and the details that do go vertically wasting space.
Themes only change the background image.

But it does handle ajaj and ajax better than 12. Does anyone know why so many devs are using javascript for links and images anyway?

Also who is the chick in the photo next to the login for the opera forums, and what does she have to do with logging in?

Page 4, eh? Well, I still wish somehow 12.17 could have gone on to a newer and better life, but, given a bunch of spare time, and a couple really nice guys on other Forums, I have worked through almost all my heavy gripes about 24.0

Count me 'adapted'. Not so sure my Bride will let me put it on HER computer...she has HUNDREDS of bookmarks ! I can damn near feel the frying pan on my head!

Seriously, what kind of dopes are at the controls to remove functionality such as the Tool Bar, i.e. File / View / Tools / Subwoofer etc? Instead of going forward, these that are writing this program (or destroying it) are going two steps back and then 40 steps in reverse! Hey!

@belinderope: you need to leave. Find a browser that will make you happy and go... be happy. But stop your whining and finger-pointing. If you don't like Opera... fine. Stick with Opera Presto (it still works, you know) or go away and find another.

Never put a browser on someone else's computer unless he/she asks. We each find our own way. My wife does not use Opera and I have no intentions of disrespecting her individuality. I'm glad you found a way to adapt to Opera 24 and by the next version you may have a better chance of demonstrating its book-keeping prowess. Let's wait and see.

Gracious leushino! You do seem filled with anxiety and despair (and rage). Might I suggest a calming tea you can get at your local Health Food Store, I believe it's called "Britgeotter-Calm" made from regular tealeaves. I've known others it has given some relief to stress levels such as yours.

Years ago, I always used Opera and found it fast. But I moved on. Downloading this newest version left me tattered and torn. It's like taking the steering wheel, the odometer and a floor mat out of ones' car. Why do these dudes do this? It's taking what used to be a good product (now watch your temper leushino) and stripping it down just so we can't use it.

I'm convinced Opera will bring back the Menu Bar in the not too distant future, or they'll have one person (leushino) using it. Thumbs up all. 🙂

I'm still using 12.14, mainly because of M2 and the ability to set my own custom default search engine. With the personal customisation that Presto Opera offers as icing on the cake.

Oh, and the fact that it still works with every web site I care to visit. If a site does actually fail to work for me in 12.14, then that site gets crossed of the list of sites 'fit for purpose' and an alternative working site is found. Works for me. 🙂

EDIT: I do occasionally use/test the Developers build, and keep it up to date, just to see how things are progressing in the world of Blink Opera. But 12.14 will still be my default and most used browsers till I decide otherwise.

No rage here, belinderope. You might consider taking your own advice on the calming tea since you mention feeling all "tattered and torn" after downloading the newest version of Opera. It would appear that you're far more in need of your advice than I. As for being convinced that "Opera will bring back the Menu Bar" or only "one person" (yours truly) will be using it - uh - I think you'd better rethink that ill-considered prognostication. So, you "just can't use" the current browser since it is too stripped down... right? Then stick with Presto and be happy. As for me (and I know of many others who feel the same), I'm sold on the new browser and I invite you to open up your mind... try to adapt... and see for yourself that with a little exploring of the extensions, you can set up Opera to pretty much do whatever needs doing. AND... it's getting better all the time. Don't worry - Be happy.

LOL... I only mentioned that because years ago (I think it was back when Windows 98 first appeared), I installed Netscape on my wife's computer while she was at work. I had to dodge bullets when she returned and discovered what I had done (with the best of intentions, mind you). It taught me a bitter lesson: if I want peace in this household, I must keep my grubby hands off my wife's computer!
