Audio stops when screen turns off

I am trying to listen to audio on various websites. Whether I am on data or Wi-Fi or battery saver is on or off, whenever the screen is off or I am on another screen, the audio will stop after about 15 seconds or so.

I am running Pie on a Moto G4. I have had to return to Chrome to avoid this problem. Thanks for your help!

@bbtexan I meant to say I am running pie on a Moto G6 not a G4. My mistake.
