spell check dictionary and (the) Internet

At no point in its entire existence, and certainly not since Opera has been around has the word "internet" EVER been considered a proper noun. It was annoying but mildly amusing 12+ years ago when I first used Opera to see that. But in 2019, it is absurd, and increasing annoying to see it try to force Internet on me. IT is no big deal when I spell it right and can just ignore the red squiggly line. But when I make a typo and then can't just right click to correct because it only gives me Internet as an option, it becomes annoying.
I am genuinely curious as to why the Opera people ever THOUGHT it was a proper noun. Even in the days when people called it "internet" instead of "the internet" like annoying high schoolers call it "prom" instead of "the prom", it was still a lowercase I. Either way..could someone PLEASE update the damn dictionary to reflect reality.
