Somehow I've added a link. See (

What does the little icon left from the https:link mean?
I cannot seem to delete the link. How do I get rid of it? -

It's a link you have copied. It's in the clipboard. Other cleaning programs can remove this.

@sjeekspier I came here with the same problem. What seems to have worked for me was to copy a random word off a webpage and paste it into the search box. I assume that as it wasn't a link the browser didn't offer it as a suggestion the next time.
You would think that if you clear browsing history, cookies, and data it wouldn't continue to show the last URL you pasted into the search box every time you open the browser again.
