I just installed ubuntu 18.04 and I wannted to use opera, so I download it form the website as .deb packages, install and lunch it .at the very begining everything works fine but when i tryed to login to my account "make synchronization you know" I have this error :
'Can't open user profile directory, because you lack sufficient privileges. You might want to contact the administrator of this machine.'I couldn't run opera after at all.
can you help me.

There have been several posts about this scenario, both under Windows and Linux. I can confirm that it occurs with Opera 57.0.3098.102 on both Ubuntu Xenial and Ubuntu Bionic. In my case, I suspect it has something to do with encryption of the home directory: accounts with cleartext home directories do not, in my case, exhibit the problem.
I hope this will be a clue for someone to finally diagnose and resolve this issue.
