Snap Opera has missing hover text

I moved to using the Snap distribution of Opera last night after the most recent update broke my ability to play mp4s even with the most up-to-date Chromium codec package installed.
It works great, but for some reason my hover text on any and all websites and elements shows an empty box, the size of what the text would be. Everything's updated and works perfectly otherwise. Any ideas?

It seems to me like buggy gtk theming on the snap app. It is probably white text on white background, not just a blank box.
I do not know if snap apps follow the system's gtk theme, but try changing it to a more common one, like adwaita, and check if you get the text to appear. -

Every flavor of the Mint-X theme causes it apparently, which is a little frustrating but I can adjust.
