System: AMD FX 6300 CPU, 8 GB DDR3 RAM, 1 TB HDD, NVidia 730GT graphics with proprietary drivers ver 390.48 for Linux installed.
OS: LinuxMint 19 (tara), Linux 4.15.0-23-generic, Xorg: 1.19.6
Problem: Downloaded the installer (opera-stable_54.0.2952.41_amd64.deb from the Opera website. It installed fine and started OK. Then I signed in to synchronize my existing account, turned on VPN. After some delay, opera started crashing, it would recover from the crash and crash again and ultimately stopped restarting on its own.
When I started Opera from the terminal, this is what was displayed after it crashed.**dbus[2265]: arguments to dbus_message_iter_append_basic() were incorrect, assertion "_dbus_check_is_valid_utf8 (*string_p)" failed in file ../../../dbus/dbus-message.c line 2754.
This is normally a bug in some application using the D-Bus library.D-Bus not built with -rdynamic so unable to print a backtrace
Aborted (core dumped)**I hope this problem can be solved soon.
