Set user-added search engine as default (Ecosia.org)

Please allow user-added search engines to be set as the default. Or add Ecosia.org to the default list. This is extremely important to me, and it seems important to others. The lack of this is single-handedly keeping me from using Opera as my default browser in day to day life.

Absolutely.
In my case, I want to either amend the Google search string to force it into no country redirect mode (I am an American working abroad and would like my searches to be in my alphabet) or define a specific search URL and make it the default. Almost every other browser out there allows one to define their own default search engines. The lack of allowing a user-defined search URL to be assigned as the default search engine keeps me from using Opera on a regular basis.
