With all the various Opera services that are being trimmed off I think its obvious what on major problem is.
Opera is trying to cover too many bases. It needs desperately to trim and focus on its major goals. It needs to be more modular. It is trying to reinvent the operating system when it should focus more on being a great browser. The Linux philosophy of doing one thing and doing it well needs to be incorporated here in
order to be competitive. Its too heavy all this things should be add-ons with the user being in fulleasy control of the browser they want. KDE is finally coming around to this because they needed to. I think
Opera needs to as well. There are only a couple of mega browsers ie; chrome, firefox., we certainly could use another if only Opera will come around with modularity. I hope sincerely it succeeds. It wont without
a more refined realistic and humble vision. Be a good browser thats all there is where you could be a great browser.

That suggestions doesn't make any sense for me, because the cause and consequence of everything you described is the result of the fact that apparently they're already doing what you want: simplifying some services and putting more focus on the browsers.

        Of course, considering

Be a good browser thats all there is where you could be a great browser.
is very vague and people will disagree over what makes a browser a great one. For some people this suggestion would go on the opposite way of the first suggestion of "focusing in doing X well".

What do you mean with "modularity"?

Initial post contradicts itself. Very confusing, very...

Well I'm beginning to already see what the problem is. People try to help and offer suggestions and you look for ways to reject them. Opera may simply cater to a different type of user. Maybe thats why Opera has been floundering for many years. They won't listen. if I were to post that comment I made initially on the boards of other browsers I would get entirely different replies, I have in essence. People agree or disagree
on points and further the discussion. Its not hard to understand what I outlined for those who know what they're talking about. I offer suggestions but since you think Operas perfect maybe it is for you. Clearly
most disagree that is reflected in Market share for years now.....good luck!

              Wow....... Just... Wow....

Do you speak English natively? Can you re-read my reply? Do you know about the existence of Opera 15+, Coast, etc? Say what exactly is your suggestion because if there's one I couldn't understand it from your first post as I explained in my reply.
And I never said Opera is perfect.

People agree or disagree on points and further the discussion.
And what have I done different than that? You were the one who abruptly ended the discussion while I was trying to understand what you meant. You also ignored my question.

@bloonoise, don't mistake everyone's confusion over what you wrote as a rejection of your "help and suggestions". Simply put, you haven't expressed yourself in a clear and understandable way, so readers don't understand what your points (or your "help and suggestions") are. I've read and re-read your two posts, and I can't yet figure out what you're trying to say.

In your first post, you argue that "various Opera services" are "being trimmed off"... then you argue that Opera needs to "trim and focus on its major goals" and be "more modular" - all without explaining what any of that means in a way that a reader can connect with. Then you go on to say "it's too heavy" and (apparently) that a lot of things should be add-ons... which is exactly what Blink Opera has done - so, again, it makes no sense without some additional explanation.

I understand in the first that he wants to say Opera Software ASA need to do focus on what is really important, this is what Opera is doing now. But the second one is a mess.
