I suggest this new icon for Opera.

steveh last edited byI suggest this new icon for Opera.
Mainly I suggest it because it is simpler, besides it is not such a radical change from the current toroidal 3D shape, and being resized looks good. I think that in the current icon does not fully appreciate the tridimensionality of the same in its monochromatic version.
I show the design of the icon in its flat version, with a gradient, Opera Neon (green), Beta (red with gray) and Developer (gray):

steveh last edited byBut I think there is a better consistency of the browser image with this icon (the shape is the same unlike the 3D version and the flat version of the current one):

gustavwiz last edited byI think they should just use the old icon. It felt more like an 'O', the new one just looks like a malformed sort of ring. And it's obvious that people like it more, because almost every compatibility table you see where Opera is included, the old icon is used.

A Former User last edited byThe old icon is used with the pages for Presto Opera and the new one is used for pages for Webkit Opera. That serves to differentiate them. Seems useful to me.
