2 things could be customizable to make the feature more interesting and even easier to use:

choose the size of icons

choose a personal image for each icon

Maybe this features coud be stored on the computer and not on a server, this would open doors for creating "themes for the speed dial" if it could be saved all in a single file to bkp

Good idea. I was thinking same thing. It could be useful to customize color and/or logotype for speed dial tiles.
