Blocksi an opera addon installed malicious software on my computer

Earlier today I was setting up an older computer for my son. Just a Windows 7 box with a clean install. After finishing fiddling with the drivers I decided to install a web filter since he's still pretty young. I looked around the net for a good free one when I noticed there was an opera addon for a web filter called Blocksi. I scanned the reviews, some people were having some minor issues but on the whole it seemed to work. So I installed it.
Immediately after installing it and doing the configuration I tested it out by going to a website that should be blocked. It blocked it. But before I could celebrate, I noticed the blocked message page was odd. There were weird banners and ads all over it. Suddenly install programs began to run and began installing things so fast I couldn't close them before they were done. I closed the browser but the damage was done.
Windows kept popping up and ads even after the browser was closed. More installation windows began installing yet more malicious programs. I realized it would be a pain to clean all that out and opted to just do a clean install all over again. This time installing the security software first.
I want to post here because I'm having trouble logging into the addons page to make a review. This addon needs to be removed immediately. Here's a link for those curious, but don't install it.
