VPN in Xubuntu 16.04 stopped working. Why?

Anyone know why the VPN in Xubuntu 16.04 has not worked the past two days? Using Opera Developer 40.0.2280.0

Sorry for the late answer. It's working for me in Opera developer 40.0.2301.0 on Ubuntu (vanilla, Unity). Do you still have the issue?

VPN still not working in 40.0.2301.0 Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS (x86; XFCE)
Stays orange saying "connecting" but never does connect. Also, no locations are selectable as there are none to select.

Which VPN are you using?Does it work in 16/14 live? The network mgr in all 16 flavors is still very buggy I don't even use it but I am looking for an alternative to VPN Gate, which doesn't use OpenVPN and is tricky to set up in 'nix.

Opera 40.0.2306.0 is the latest update and still the VPN is not working. The VPN is the built-in version and used to work in Xubuntu 16.04. I may try installing PIA which I use on my PC and Android devices.
