One click hide speed dial button

A function to hide/show the speed dial with just one click or something similar (like a mouse gesture).
An idea would be to implement it to the speed dial button in the bookmarks/news/tabs/history column, as in when you are already on the speed dial tab, clicking it again will show/hide it.
As I like my speed dial page clean, I usually hide it, but the extra click to hide/show the speed dial from the "Customize start page" feels a bit inconvenient.
