In my limited testing the folder tree feature works as expected while on the Bookmarks Page, while this feature breaks most functionality in the Bookmarks Dialog.

If these were separate features it would be more useful to users and likely more easily perfected by your developers.

(Most of my testing has been on Ubuntu. The Bookmarks Dialog on Windows doesn't seem to function with the experiment for advanced features, but the folder tree feature fails regardless.)

Remember that this is only an experimental feature and you should not use it in everyday work.

Hence my consistent use of experimental in my post. Nonetheless, if these were separated it would improve matters for developers, testers, and casual users alike.

            and casual users alike.

But why do you write this then?

My point was that as the bugs already have been discovered and confirmed, you don't atm have to use the bookmarks dialog in Opera developer as it already has been tested.

I can agree with that it should be separated, but not because of it would be more "useful", rather that it would make more sense as they're quite different.

If you agree it should be done but for different reasons, wouldn't it make more sense to say "yes, do it for these reasons also" rather than argue that my reasons are insufficient?

Directly to your point though, the developers may be a long way off from fixing all the features of both the dialog and any that remain in the tree. Separating these functions would allow any user, developer, or tester to enable one or the other as their use-case demanded.
