Customize the shape of speed dial thumbnails

currently, speed dial thumbnails are rectangles. the rectangles is too big for me. i would love to customize the shape of them. other shapes should be had like triangle (one is normal and the other is upside down -this is for who have lots of SD thumbnails), circles, pentagons, hexagons...
note: all of shapes are arranged following the alternate.
any ideas about this, guys?
