scrolling is painfully slow in opera 27 for ubuntu

Hi,
Just installed opera 27.0.1689.54 on Ubuntu 14.10.
The only issue i am facing is that scrolling is painfully slow on all websites.
My laptop configuration is intel i3 with 6GB RAM. -

When I use Opera 27.0.1689.54 on Ubuntu 14.10, I have no problems. Have you installed any extensions or played around with settings or flags?

Hi, I think I had similar issue on machine with nvidia gpu. Switching to nvidia binary driver 340.65 helped in my case.

Disabling Hardware acceleration option did the trick though i am not sure why that is the case.I mean opera 27 for windows 8.1 with hardware acceleration "on" on this same machine hasn't given me scrolling problems.

I assume you use an integrated graphics card (Intel HD graphics)? Which model is it?

As far as i know it is simple Intel HD graphics not like intel HD graphics 3000 or 4000 ones.

Have you experienced bad hardware acceleration performance overall in Ubuntu? Try to open software center, go to edit > software sources > Additional drivers. See if you have optional drivers for your graphics card. If so, try to change to one of them, restart your computer, and see if it works better (with Hardware acceleration on in Opera).
