Opera gradually starts slower and slower

As the Operas history is filling up, it startup gets slower and slower, to the point where you need to wait a minute or two, and on a Xeon 4 core CPU I do not expect such a behaviour. Other programs don't have this issue, only Opera.
I resolved it simply by deleting history/cookies, but I would like to use my history from time to time, please do something about it.
Possible solution:
On old opera, you had an option:"Save content on web pages for fast search" radio button. When switched off, opera would start instantly, but if you would leave this radio button on, Opera would gradually start slower and slower over a few weeks period up to a point where you would have to wait 5-10 minutes, until I found a solution for it. There is no such option in new opera, probably everything gets saved all the time. I DON'T WONT THAT please bring back that option or do something else to stop it from filling this useless crap in the database. -

The "new" Opera doesn't save the web pages content, so there must be another reason for your problem...
