Opera mini 3 alternative ?

Now that the Opera 3 servers are switched off, neither of my phones has a useful access to the net.
On 1 phone it tells me;
"Your device does not meet the requirements of Opera mini 4.5. Please download Opera mini 4.5"

and on the other phone that runs v4, it crashes whenever I try to open any pages.
The previous phone also had the same issue. V4 installed but crashed every time.So my option is Opera mini 3, not because I want it, but because v4 has never run on any of the phones I have, even though they are the correct versions.
I have even reset my phones to factory defaults to try and get Opera to work but no joy.
These are not the sort of phones that have updates available, so telling me in the past to update my Nokia was kinda dumb.Places like Tesco still sell phones like my new (but old style) Nokia, so it seems a shame they have no support from the industry. I have a phone that is 1 year old, but now no net access. Cheers for that.
So any suggestions, on an alternative java browser I can use on my still new-ish phone would be most helpful.
