Menu bar is not available when using cairo dock

After upgrading from Opera 12 to 26, I found that the main menu of opera is not accessible when I am using the cairo dock session in Ubuntu (14.10). There is no Opera button or anything. The hotkeys that should open the main menu are not working either.
In the Ubuntu standard Gnome session, the menu appears as soon as the mouse moves over the windows title bar, however, the same does not work in the cairo dock session. It would be nice, if a regular main menu bar could be added by a configuration switch (e.g. like in Thunderbird). As it is now, many functions can't be accessed and I begin to think about switching to a different browser for that reason.
Just as a side note I would like to add, that I did not like that the mail support is gone and I had to switch to Thunderbird after many years of using Opera and being happy with it.

We will have a look at why the detection is going wrong here. In the mean time at least you have a workaround.
