I got a photo album with some decent Google maps. Firefox displays them all but Opera does not:

Don't see any obvious problems when using 12.14 on Linux, unless I'm missing something.

I am reluctant to revert to version 12.14. An earlier trial to revert to an older version messed up the feeds database. Do you have any idea whether versions 12.14 and 12.16 are compatible with respect to the feeds data?

Sorry, I don't use feeds, I only use email and mailing lists in M2.
ftp://ftp.opera.com/pub/opera/linux/1214/
Just download the bz2 or .xz version from the link above and extract it to a folder, 'Home' for example and copy your existing profile folder (found in the hidden folder .opera located in 'Home') to it's folder. You can now test 12.14 without interfering with your exiting install of Opera 12.16.

I installed the bz2 version and got: opera: Failed to set up core.
Thus I installed opera-12.14-1738.x86_64.rpm which is working. It has the same problem as v12.16.
The index page displays a correct Google map: http://www.nefkom.net/charlemagne/Opera.jpg the image page does not: http://www.nefkom.net/charlemagne/Opera1.jpg
See the hilfe link at the bottom for enabling the map:
- enable display of descriptions
- in the description line enable map by clicking on the symbol

http://karlmistelberger.jalbum.net/TestjAlbum/2014-05-11/index.html#p1030239.jpg and all other pictures loads fine with me in 12.16 (Build 1860, Platform Linux System x86_64, 3.5.0-17-generic) in "Mint 14".
The pictures even switch, when I use the scrollwheel of my Logitech "MX510" mouse.
What distro do you use? Maybe it it a distro or desktop manager issue?
