Can't use two finger swipe to navigate history?

I wanted to make the switch to opera gx, but it's really nagging at me that I can't use horizontal scroll/two finger gesture left and right to go forward and back a page. I use it a TON and I'm getting really annoyed that everything that used to fix it has been completely removed. I even edited the preference file to have "overscroll_navigation_history":true, included in the browser part and even that has been unrecognized. Why on God's green earth would you make enabling this so difficult? If I can't find a fix I'm going to a different browser.
