@cubebox391 Hi I was able to fix this by extracting the libffmpeg.so file from https://github.com/iteufel/nwjs-ffmpeg-prebuilt/releases/download/0.60.0/0.60.0-linux-x64.zip onto the opera lib directory /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/opera/
I kept a backup of the old libffmpeg.so file.
Restarted opera and it worked like a charm. -

I am also facing the same error a month ago. But still could not find what is the actual problem

@molubabu You are amazing, you just helped me solve two problems at once lol The first one was the same as this topic, and the second one was that some videos were not playing on opera, like it was incompatible, but by putting that file into the opera folder, both problems were solved. Thank you so much.

Hey! Sounds frustrating — especially since everything else is working fine. In Opera, this often happens because of a sound or site permission issue. Try clicking the lock icon next to the Spotify web address and make sure “Sound” is set to Allow. Also, check Opera’s site settings under Settings → Privacy and Security → Site Settings → Sound to confirm Spotify isn’t muted.
If that doesn’t help, clear cookies and cache for Spotify, then restart the browser. Sometimes hardware acceleration can also cause audio bugs — try turning it off under Settings → System. After that, reload Spotify and test again — it usually fixes the no-sound issue.

You could also try the Spotify desk top app, which usually handles playback more reliably than browsers.
