Opera crashes in Xwayland

I have twp linux computers with Opera-117.0.5408.53: a laptop running Xubuntu-22.0.4-LTS and a desktop running almainux-9.5. The laptop display uses Xorg; the desktop uses Xwayland. When I run Opera on the desktop machine, it crashes if I click on the "O" menu button in the top left of the window. When I run Opera on my laptop, it works fine. I tried the various recommended fixes (disabling extensions, resetting configuration, etc.) on the desktop machine, but the problem persists. Yesterday, I tried something different: I opened an ssh session from the laptop to my desktop, and launched Opera on the desktop with the display tunneled to my laptop machine. It worked fine; no crashes! This led be to suspect that some interaction between Opera and Xwayland is causing the crashes on the desktop machine.
Has anyone else seen this, and is there a fix?

Ensure both Opera and Xwayland are updated to avoid compatibility issues. If the problem persists, run Opera from the terminal.

@leofrench2345, I've done that. Opera is v117.0.5408.93; xwayland is xorg-x11-server-Xwayland-23.2.7-1.el9.x86_64, the newest almalinux supports. Problem persists; here's the terminal output launching opera:
