FancyZones can no longer snap OperaGX pop out videos.

I have been using OperaGX pop out videos alongside FancyZones for a couple of years now. After the most recent Windows 10 update, I am no longer able to snap the pop out window using FancyZones. This is a non-issue for other browsers, so this concluded for me that it was an issue with OperaGX. Can anyone else replicate this issue? Is there a fix for this? I do not want to change over to a different browser again. Thanks!

@Nebster66 Hey did you ever find a fix for this? It randomly happened to me 3 days ago on windows 11. The Opera application itself can snap to fancy zones but not the pop out window. It was really helpful for my Ultra Wide but it no longer works and its frustrating.

@Nebster66 It happen to me too. I use Fancyzone and it really useful to make snap it to specific position and size, and after some update it randomly didn't work one day. My solution is, delete OperaGX and goes back to Opera

@Nebster66 Same here.
I'm on the following version of Opera GX (see bottom of post) and it's very recently stopped allowing me to snap the pop-out video to my FancyZones grid.
From my quick browser survey below, seems it's more an Opera issue than a Chromium issue and not limited to just the GX product line.
Win 10 Desktop Browsers:
Opera GX (Chromium) - Broken
Opera One (Chromium) - Broken
Arc (Chromium) - N/A (No popout feature on Win)
Brave (Chromium) - N/A (No popout feature on Win)
Chrome (Chrome) - N/A (No popout feature on Win)Edge (Chromium) - WORKING!

@Broliant-Viyara Are you sure it is an Opera and OperaGX issue? Someone above seemed to be able to go back to Opera and have it work still or as Opera pushed a very recent update that also broke pop-out video?
Also, Chrome is able to do picture-in-picture if you right click on a video. Still works for me when I test it.

@Nebster66 I'm going to say "yes" that I believe this is caused by a change in the Opera browser platform because I have the same setup on multiple devices - the above report was my observation of behaviour on a desktop computer but I have repeated the same test on a laptop and seen the same results.
For the behaviour match on both, something has changed in either the browser or the underlying OS - both run Windows 10 Pro and both have PowerToys with all updates being applied in a timely manner.
So either Opera's browser has changed or Windows/PowerToys has changed to result in the observed change.
Can't be definitive here on which one is the culprit but thought with my initial report above to simply corroborate your observation with my own experience.
Aside about Chrome PiP:
When I right click on a video in Chrome, I only get a handful of copy options, a troubleshoot option and the stats for nerds option. I'd always assumed Chrome left it to the extensions platform to provide PiP functions where Opera and other provide these extra QoL features as part of their USP. (Excuse the acronym soup!) -

@kamilasablaturova111 Correct it was working as intented since Novemeber 2023 and last monday (September 30th 2024) it just stopped completely. But as @Nebster66 said chrome has picuture in picture and in works fine so it is a problem for me only with OperaGX. So I'll be using Chrome for the time being as the native picture in picture from OperaGX was one of the main reasons I switch over for my setup.

I checked again and my copy of Chrome did not have built-in PiP on Win 10 Pro.
But the Chrome web store has the following PiP extension provided by Google so I added that to my Chrome install, tested it on a YT video and the pop-out video window could be snapped to my FancyZones grid.
https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/picture-in-picture-extens/hkgfoiooedgoejojocmhlaklaeopbecg
I then installed that same plugin into my Opera GX browser and the pop-out video window could NOT be snapped to my FancyZones grid.
Thus, the underlying way that the Opera browsers are facilitating the popout-video windows, either natively or via other party's extensions, is now incompatible with FancyZones.
Just a bit of additional info for anyone looking on from a technical perspective.
