I've been a happy Opera user since I had to pay for it (I switched to it when Netscape bloated to 4.6), but after installing Opera 36 I've been running around like a lost lamb trying to find out how to set most of my usual customisations. For instance:

      • I move my tab toolbar to the right so I can better see what I have open, especially with many tabs. Has this customisation vanished?
      • I toggle between Author Mode/User Mode whenever I visit a site that has white text on black so I can read it without killing my eyes. Where has this option gone and how can I add it back to my main toolbar?
      • I use the F12 button daily to enable/disable plugins/JavaScript/animated images etc on a per page basis. Is this now restricted to global settings so I'd have to go to Settings | Websites every time I want to enable a page, then go back to disable it again?
      • I have cookies turned off by default but approve them on a per domain basis. Has this vanished too?
      • Etc etc.

I already like the speed and responsiveness of Opera 36, but has the most customisable browser decided to ditch all customisations?

      Hal

Since Opera 15, it's based on chromium, i.e. a re-write. That's why many features are gone.
