How does the new Sync works?

Previously I used to sync my data to Opera severs from my andoid version of Opera. The greatest help I had is that after resetting my phone to its factory state, I could easily sync all my bookmars and speed dials back to my phone without any worries. The doubt that I have now is that whether the same facility is available for me even after migrating to the new sync service? i.e., do I have to sync my data to a PC in order to save my entire bookmarks or not? Hope someone would help me with this doubt.

Yes, if you've data on Opera sync servers then no matter which device you'll use to sign-in it'll download all your bookmarks, open tabs etc.
