+1
I had this request pending too.
Plus separators would be perfect.

It looks like you are a die-hard custom search user as well. I rely on the feature a lot and have 10 set up for a single website in some cases.
As a workaround, you could edit the Web Data SQLite directly and switch around the IDs for now. Note that it is not advisable to fiddle with IDs in any database, although it should be fine just to switch them around as I have done myself.
Separators would be great too but feel more like a Firefox thing in my humble opinion.

I've played a bit with an SQLite portable editors and the Search file but was completely reset so I've added every one manually (many Opera installations) and keep the file safe until have patience to learn what to edit. xD
But definitely I should do that and Opera implement the option (as many others).
On the other side, didn't know about FF but in Opera Presto (Old Opera) the search had separators too.

Ha ha, I am sorry for advising you. (You could use any SQLite portable editor to edit ‘Web Data’. You will then want to switch to the ‘keywords’ table and switch around the IDs to desired order. If 8 were to be the lowest ID, you would want to assign 8 to the record that you wish to appear first in the list. I hope this helps.)
Wow, it surely looks neat and tidy with the separators. If that is the case, it would be great to see the return of them too.
