Help!

I've turned 2FA on my personal account, but I don't have access to the authenticator app I used anymore, and now logging in is impossible as account authentication is "stuck in a loop".

So, here's what's currently happening:

a) Login w/ password -> 2FA from auth app
b) Since I no longer have access to the app, I choose backup codes
c) I'm still logged in on Opera for Android, so I go to Account Profile -> Generate backup codes
d) At this point, it also asks for the 2FA code, which is, unretrievable

The authenticator app I used was installed on an older phone, and when I got a new phone, accounts on the app were not restored despite using its backup/restore feature.

Is there a way to remedy this?

Just found out the solution in Opera GX.

In opera://flags, turn off the enhanced address bar and restart Opera.
