I found that this issue only happens when more than two tabs are open including at least one tab with YouTube open. It doesn't matter what kind of other tabs are open, if only one of them is YouTube, then it starts playing videos. This issue rarely happens with just 1 or 2 tabs open. It's only when I exceed that number. I think it's also worth mentioning that sometimes the audio of these videos doesn't even play on a YouTube tab, but on a completely different tab like Twitter or Gmail.
If it's a Google-related issue, I hope they're aware it exists since this seems to be a relatively new issue that not everyone is experiencing.
