I use operaGX and can't believe it doesn't have it. Im gonna look for some third party options or hacks

You can right click any icon on the sidebar to hide it. You can customize or remove the sidebar entirely in the options menu.

@emerod there are options to remove GX corner and every icon in the sidebar. You can completely remove the sidebar in general.
Just go to settings and type "sidebar"
