I will not discuss this any further, as I said I'm done with opera Software. This post was just supposed to be a warning about the experience I've had. Maybe I'm overreacting but trust was breached.

RE: This browser is compromisedOpera GX
@jkels you're calling me uninformed but just assume I don't know what a VPN is. Well I do and there wasn't any turned on so that explanation goes out the window.

RE: This browser is compromisedOpera GX
@53-north so you're telling me opera GX might route my traffic through somewhere in Southeast Asia for no reason and without telling me. I never heard of any browser doing that in my life and if it's true it's still a breach of trust.

RE: This browser is compromisedOpera GX
@burnout426 i did not have the internal VPN turned on, I went through the settings before I started using the browser. I have a subscription based external VPN Client that I am using when I need to, that one also wasn't turned on. Also it certainly wouldn't have been set to South East Asia.

@jdmbeastmode having or not having an anti-virus software installed has nothing to do with this issue. I of course do have one though.

This browser is compromisedOpera GX
I tested this browser on Windows 10 a few hours ago and used a login for a site that I'm using for a while now and never had any issues with. I am now receiving emails from that site for suspicious activity. One login from Thailand and one from Vietnam (I live in Europe). This happened two hours after I first logged in through opera GX and never happened before.
I will delete this Malware disguised as a browser from my computer immediately and I advise everybody to do the same.
I will never use software from this company ever again.
