Video Clip Playback purple line.

Opera on Ubuntu 2.4 LTS
I get a purple line down the middle of screen everytime I view a video clip. I have tried reloading and restarting but the purple line is always there only on video playback. The line moves with the mouse cursor but never goes away.
Suggestions please@
