I do not use extensions for that purpose, I simply use firefox or chromium when I come across a video that is not playing.
On top of that, I do not use vlc on linux, only on windows. But I can check the extensions for mpv and mplayer if you wish and report back.

        Thanks!
Just saw a site with offline video initially posted live with LiveStream that required Opera to activate flash for it, and it worked.
Now to see if it works in live mode...

Will post back if need further assistance.
But don't hesitate if you find something interesting! 😉

LiveStream live in Opera is a no go.
          Back to the drawing board!

Hi @bidoux, you can try one of the following:
            1. Install the chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra_68.0.3440.106 pkg from here, and check if it helps.
In case it doesn't, navigate to the Opera's installation root (check the path in opera:about > Paths > Install), add there a sub-folder "lib_extra", enter it, and make symbolic link to the lib: ln -s /usr/lib/chromium-browser/libffmpeg.so,
            or
            2. Install the chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra_69.0.3497.81 pkg from here, go to Opera's installation root, rename libffmpeg.so to e.g. libffmpeg.so-old, and make symbolic link to the lib: ln -s /usr/lib/chromium-browser/libffmpeg.so.

Small notice: please be aware, that in the second case you will have to repeat the last two steps (rename and adding the link), after every Opera update.

Are you on ubuntu or some of its derivatives? Because all @l33t4opera posted apply only to ubuntu.

Presently have KDE Neon (Debian based) installed.
Haven't had chance to view live LiveStream yet.

Kde neon is ubuntu based, despite what distrowatch says about it being debian+ubuntu based

                  What is KDE neon? 🔗
KDE neon is a rapidly updated software repository. Most users will want to use the packages built from released software which make up our User Edition. KDE contributors and testers can use the packages built from KDE Git in the Developer Editions. It uses the foundation of the latest Ubuntu LTS (16.04).

                  from here > https://neon.kde.org/faq

On top of that, they moved to 18.04 as base according to this, so I assume they have not updated the above faq yet
                  https://blog.neon.kde.org/index.php/2018/05/02/moving-to-bionic/

There is always a way to check for yourself, with lsb_release -a

@bidoux In case, that you're not going to update to the libc6 >= 2.27, you can try alternative versions of the packages: 68, or 69. Install one of the them, and follow the rest of the above steps if needed.

seems to have done the trick, a huge thank you! 🙂

If you do not have libc6 2.27, which is the one 18.04 uses, you are probably on kde neon that is based on 16.04, which has libc6 2.23.
So, please keep that in mind for the next time you are trying to solve a similar issue.

@jimunderscorep - might not be exact way to jot it down, but when police talk to one another over the airwaves want to confirm they heard the last order or part of conversation before exiting, they say (ten four!).

Why don't they say "roger that" or something? 😛
English is not my mother tongue, so I would not catch the reference anyway, don't worry.
