Opera won't open certain links

Opera will not allow choice of thumbnails on eBay items nor allow any thumbnail to be enlarged. It also will not open certain links on Web pages.
This is a new problem. Opera worked perfectly for several years.
I run W7 32-bit.

The latest, which I think is 9.6.

The latest of Opera 'Presto' or classic is v12.17

The latest of the new-generation Chromium based Opera 'Blink' is v25.0.1614.68

As web standards and methods evolve, older browsers, including Opera 'Presto', will be less and less capable

Actually I have 25.0.1614.68. A confusing variety, to me!
