These days, the internet and online shopping has made physically braving the masses on Black Friday less necessary. Instead of fighting your way through traffic jams and hordes of shoppers, you can stay in your jammies and browse Amazon, eBay and Booking.com. While doing so, make your shopping adventure a little easier with our Black…

I agree with bbatten - who said you could add stuff to my page and not give me the ability to remove it!!!!!!!!!
I switched to opera because I did not want to be googlized - now you seem to be turning into them
if you really want to be showing me ads then you should be paying me for your intrusion into my space.
With every update you do, I like Opera less and less. Turn back the clock and give me the Opera of a few years ago.
And take your ads away (try selling them to google...) -

The amount of negative responses makes me sad. There is an "x" button for you to close the promotion (although it is kind of hard to see). Honestly it's not that bothering and I did enjoy reading the article.

WTF is coming off, here? I've set everything I could fine to "ignore" and I still get this nonsense about black friday and amazon! Pay attention to trashcan!

@CarlyRaeJepsenStan The point is there shouldn't be any "promotion". Even after I pressed the "x" and specified "ignore" the stupid thing still reappeared later.

Black Friday Definition: 1. Greed + Greed. 2. A fake holiday instituted by commercialism and business for profit. Second only to Christmas In Greed.

Not i nteresred in any more corporate American greed. I've been using opera for more than 12 years, because it doesn't have ads all over it,and it was 1/2 the size of google. I'm British so I only accept one Traditional UK sale day, and that is the "New year sales". Please stop with the ads on my speed dail, I never shop online, I get off my backside and physically go shopping. That's why I'm not obese. lol Please don't add any more "promotions" for amazon or Black friday. I will stop using Opera if you continue to do so. Please remove them.

Two ads and a countdown clock to Black Friday came up on mine this morning. Haven't found anything yet on opera forums on how to get rid of it, no opt out, no response from opera.

@carlyraejepsenstan: thank you, I found it. And yes it was difficult to see as it looked part of the speed dial wallpaper picture and I only found it moving the cursor around until the arrow changed to the hand with the pointing finger.

FWIW, I find that if I drop back to 63.0.3368.94, the ads no longer appear on the speed dial page. Also, clicking on the "heart" sidebar icon once again pops up the full bookmark page.
This in not ultimately an acceptable solution for me, but its a real PITA to switch browsers. Having to click on an 'X' every time I start the browser is not good enough. -
