Default search engine resetting on reboot

I would like to know if it is ever possible that a browser such as "opera" does not give the possibility to his user to choose the search engine to his liking. It's an ignobile thing. If I trust my search engine should be allowed my choice. It is not possible that at every reboot I have to restore my choice because defoult "Opera" always uses the same search engine.

@agostino See https://forums.opera.com/topic/43601/instructions-on-posting-about-problems-in-opera-for-windows/1
So you make one of the pre-defined search engines as the default, but it changes to another when you restart the computer? Or that happens just by closing Opera?

Any other settings resetting on you? Are you getting logged out of sites too?
Just with a reboot of Windows or will a restart of Opera cause it too?

@leocg Since the problem is recurring, I will be more explicit about the problem. The search engine that operates has by default does not suit me and I want to change it with Duckduckgo.It does not allow me. If instead I go from default to Bing allows me, in that case I can also switch to Duckduckgo otherwise it does not allow it. The problem is that now the problem arises with every start-up. If there is a list of search engines, can I choose the one that suits me the most?.

Setting DuckDuckGo as the default search engine works fine for me and sticks through a restart of Opera and a restart of my computer.
Do a test. Make a standalone installation to a folder named "Opera Test" on your desktop and test in that Opera. Does the setting stick there? If so, it's probably just something messed up with your normal Opera profile.
Do you use Opera Sync and have it set to sync settings? If so, It could be an issue/bug with sync messing up the setting. You could log out of sync for a while and see if the problem goes away. If so, then you know it's sync causing the problem.
Either way, you can try this if you want. Goto the URL
opera://about
and take note of the "profile" path. Then, close Opera. Then, load the "Preferences" file in the profile folder with JSONedit in tree mode. Right-click on thedefault_search_provider
and choose "delete selected node". Repeat fordefault_search_provider_data
. Then, save changes. That will delete your changes of search engine settings and hopefully fix the problem.Besides that, I'd uninstall Opera (don't choose to delete your data when uninstalling) and reinstall Opera. That should repair any program file issues and the default search provider file. It might help.

Every time I open Opera (latest version), it asks (again) if I want Opera to be the default browser. Tedious
If I go to Settings/Default Browser, clicking the "Make Default" - nothing changes, under the "Default browser" it continues to say, "Make Opera the default browser."
