It may not resolve immediately. It did not for me, and I left it as it was. It resolved the next day or two.

Same thing just happened to me. Opera did an automatic update. I clicked to restart opera and when it started up I got message after message stating that it could not open my profile. Had to keep closing the messages before Opera finally opened. Everything is gone. My active tabs, settings, and speed dials. Not happy!

@burnout426 Sometimes I think, they've given up on the core browser. They're so concentrated to add all these flashy features that they can't keep pace with the development of Chromium and adapting their add ons.
So I mainly use Vivaldi nowadays. They seem to cope better with the updates even they also have their flaws.

@luisca Very wise of your bank. I can no longer trust this browser to do what you set in settings' having lost 40 plus tabs and 8 workspaces in an auto update that clearly was different to every previous update on 23 July.
