@leocg Opera One latest stable version. Removing permissions from unused sites is disabled already. And of course it should never remove permissions within hours, even while using the site:

Permissions are btw again lost since my last post. I recognized that they did not appear in "Recent activity" of the Site settings. I enabled the permissions via settings now (instead of prompt), can see this in "Recent activity", and will check whether they disappear in both places at the same time.

Might this enhanced privacy protection setting be related?

@Furrsonaowl When automatic creation of tabs islands is turned on, if you open a link in a page on a new tab, then a island will be created. It's not happening for you?

@Vilhenzo The Forgot Password link can be found in the login page (auth.opera.com) when you access it being logged off.

You need to provide the password used to encrypt the synced saved passwords, so the new one will only work for passwords saved from that point.

@tigermanoiu The same thing is happening to me, my phone (samsung A13) just keeps loading, doesn't show any code, and my computer (microsoft windows 11) doesn't move on from the qr code. I used to have flow but one day it just disconnected (probably due to an automatic update) and now it doesn't want to connect again.

Nothing shared here is working, this issue has to be fixed, it's ridiculous that this still happens after years.

Opera is regularly experimenting, and to give new ideas somewhat more audience, they create a fork for them. Often, at some point, those features end up in a less radical way in the regular Opera browser.

Opera One is just the name of a new GUI rework implemented into the regular Opera desktop browser. Opera One R3 is hence a recent update of this new GUI, as well part of the regular Opera browser. Opera GX is the desktop Opera with gaming design and some gaming features. Opera Air is the desktop Opera with some health and relaxation reminders and features. Opera Neon is a desktop Opera with AI heavily integrated. Not sure how much core Opera features (aside of Chromium backbone) is still inside.

So basically:

Usually, and what I would recommend, is using using the regular Opera (desktop) browser with the red O, which has One/One R3 included. If you are a gamer and like the design of Opera GX, use that one. I think the GX specific features come on top, and the design is a wider theme only anyway. If you want your browser to remind you of and show you relaxation techniques, try Opera Air. Similarly, AFAIK those features come on top of the regular Opera browser. Not sure whether I would want my browser to take care of such things, or better a dedicated application or own common sense. If you are an AI enthusiast ... well, no, I will never recommend to use a browser with AI so tightly built in. I even deleted and removed permissions to reinstall Aria for my regular Opera browser instance. If I want to use AI, then explicitly, never implicitly, and then I use whichever particular provider/model with whichever particular app or website, and not want such in any of my applications, at least not enforced and tied into. So my opinion: just forget about Opera Neon. They can provide a plugin to optionally install, but I am against everything beyond that.

Finally, for productive browsing: Use the regular Opera browser. Everything else is beyond serious browsing experience, if you ask me 😅.

Mine too. It started after there was a major change to the browser a few months ago and now it randomly crashes all too often which is making we want to find an alternative as I'm getting really sick of it!
Opera one - up to date version.

Unfortunately there are some caveats with Opera AI right now, that I have to bring to attention here:

It sometimes happens that no answer is given in the chat for whatever reason. I haven't found a regularity, but it mostly happens in case I add a picture..

I had to realize that old chats that I had deleted from the chat history reappear again, even after deleting them twice or three times.

Whenever I open Opera AI in the sidebar, it shows: read site context toggled on. This gives me the maybe false impression that every site or tab island is already read by Opera AI without giving it permission. I think it should be the other way around: I should make the toggle on manually by my own conscious decision.

I address these three things as to say, that in this way Opera AI isn't really prime time ready.
As long as these issues aren't solved you'd better stay with Aria in my humble opinion or use another browser.

It's been 5 years of people requesting, I wonder if there is anyone from Opera monitoring these forums???

I use Linux and a Mac and really hate to use another browser on the Linux while my primary browser has beeb GX for so long. Please someone with power, listen to these folks who have been patiently requesting since 2020 for this browser to be available on Linux.

Opera made some changes.

At the URL opera://settings/keyboardShortcuts, ctrl + O is no longer assigned to the "Open file" command by default because when the "Opera AI" flag is enabled at the URL opera://flags/#ai-chat-in-side-panel, ctrl + O gets assigned to the "Open and close AI Chat in the Side Panel" command by default.

So, in short, to restore things back to how they used to be, you'll want to remove ctrl + O from the "Open and close AI Chat in the Side Panel" command if enabled (not a big deal because ctrl + / is still assigned to it that you can use) and add ctrl + O to the "Open file" command.

I signed out and tried to sign back in, and its asking me to create a new password. When i put the password in, it doesn't let me hit next. It becomes blue showing that I am allowed to click it now, but nothing happens.
