Agreed. I avoid all spam and personal invasion sites, so I don't need it being shoved down my throat.

RE: What is the last version that was not a Chrome/Brave cloneOpera for Windows
O10 was the last real Opera back when it was 'Simply The Best' before it all went south. Unfortunately it doesn't work very well any more since a lot of the security certificates and tools have been abandoned.
I still use Version 10.10 Build 1893 for a few sites but once they change HTTPS settings, I lose them.

RE: facebook in the sidebarOpera for Windows
@gianni8127 said in facebook in the sidebar:
I don't like advertising to social media facebook and instagram I find them visible in the sidebar without having requested them. It is the second time that after a few days they appear on their own, they start getting tired of me.
I'm pretty irritated about this spam too, but at least it's possible to disable it in settings. Or it should be, until something updates again and disables user preferences to force the spam again.

Stop it!! Now I get nags for Instawhatever?Opera for Windows
Everytime I open this browser it gets worse.
Now I'm getting repeated nags for Instasomething. I close it, turn it off, disable it and the next new tab it comes back.
And who asked you to load a bunch of news junk on my start page? Why did you force it on me and make me search settings for how to disable it?
Why are you trying to drive people away?

RE: Opera Keeps Failing My Tests.Opera for Windows
@burnout426 said in Opera Keeps Failing My Tests.:
@y0y0 Hit Windows Key + r to open the run dialog. In it, enter:
explorer "%AppData%\Opera Software"
That will load the "Opera Software" folder in the file browser where you can then right-click the "Opera Stable" folder and delete it.
Do the same thing with:
explorer "%LocalAppData%\Opera Software"
to clear the cache for good measure.
Are you saying that 'Opera Stable' is the profile folder? Why would I want to delete it instead of renaming it for back up?
