Since (I guess) the last release, opera constantly asks "an external program wants to launch https://[whatever-site]. Do you want to allow that?" when opening links from external programs. The "don't show again" option does not seem to do anything.

RE: [Solved]Address/Search bar doesn't work, won't let me enter, grays out text, etcOpera for Windows
@diezi Bullshit. I'm exactly on that version and have the same issue. It's something content related, and not to the core browser.

RE: [Solved]Address/Search bar doesn't work, won't let me enter, grays out text, etcOpera for Windows
This must be caused by some content that is loaded at runtime (from where? don't ask me!). I've deleted a bunch of caches from %appdata%\Opera Software\Opera Stable which made it work for literally a minute, and then it was broken again. Did another round, deleted only suggestions_cache.json, with same results. Can someone verify that maybe?
E: or not ... something is weird here ... it seems to work for a short while (seconds) after startup and then it breaks again. Man this makes me want to just dump Opera, if I'm honest.

RE: [Solved]Address/Search bar doesn't work, won't let me enter, grays out text, etcOpera for Windows
@namero999 heck it seems sufficient to just unfocus the field (by clicking outside) and focusing it again. Also note how the font looks different before and after (before is really thin)? What a weird bug.

@namero999 Good workaround at least ... better than copy-pasting stuff from some notepad or something

RE: [Solved]Address/Search bar doesn't work, won't let me enter, grays out text, etcOpera for Windows
Same issue for me since this morning. Thought it was a bad update or something, updated to latest still the same.
Especially interesting that known URLs seem to work, only when we venture into "unknown" territory it does not work any more, and also no google suggestions show up (which maybe is related?).

RE: Where is the "Recently closed tabs/Tab menu" button on the top right?Opera for computers
I use this feature every day. If it is gone it's just one more step that opera themselves decides to take to drive me towards another browser. If you don't want users, so be it.

Holy crap this is a bad move. This is one of the features in Opera I use most.

RE: Speed dial setup stays blankOpera for Windows
Tested all of the ideas suggested by @burnout426, sadly with no success. I also poked around in the underlying code of the speed dial page, but also nothing suspicious there like non-loaded resources and such. The mystery continues.

RE: Speed dial setup stays blankOpera for Windows
@sgunhouse yes thanks I know how it's supposed to look, but that's the whole point ... it doesn't but just stays all white with no controls at all.
@burnout426 latest version ofc. Will check the things you suggested, maybe some extension is messing up, but would be strange because I only got really common ones installed.

Speed dial setup stays blankOpera for Windows
Hi!
I got a really weird bug: the settings on my speed dial (where you can change background and such) is not showing any content. I.e. the panel comes up but remains all white. Does anyone have an idea how to fix that?
Cheers

RE: Colored background showing in text/search fieldsOpera for Windows
Main specs:
- Win 10 x64 - 1803
- Opera 56.0.3051.52 (bug appeared for all 56 builds so far)
- NVidia GForce GTX 1070 Ti w/ driver 397.64
Potentially relevant ...
- two monitor setup
- main @ 4k, secondary @ WUXGA
Vivaldi 2.1: no problems

Another week without a fix ... and not even any official acknowledgement.

@rejzor Days? This thread goes back 4 weeks now!

RE: Colored background showing in text/search fieldsOpera for Windows
Another week, another update, still not fixed. Honestly, how can interface problems like this not receive the highest priority?
-
RE: Colored background showing in text/search fieldsOpera for Windows
@donq Yes I am, working in a very big company in fact ... and user interface is one of the most important things of any product, so how this could not receive the utmost amount of testing is beyond me, especially as this doesn't seem to be a rare issue at all (I have very common hardware).
PS: oh and that's from me as a service developer. For the end user, having "trivial" bugs in the UI/UX can break your product much more than any technical debt or other stupid bugs that will make us cringe as developers.

RE: Colored background showing in text/search fieldsOpera for Windows
@blackcoffez @donq yeah but cmon that would also disable acceleration of videos and such ... I mean, honestly, how can something like this even ship? I got the same issue on a GeForce 1070, so it's definitely not intel only.

Video pop-out does not work on BluejeansSuggestions and feature requests
Hi!
We use bluejeans at work for video conferencing. From what I can see, the video is played through an HTML5-Video element. However it seems that it is not recognized by the video pop-out functionality (no arrow shown).
Would be cool if we could also get this site to work, maybe this is simply a matter of them setting/not setting some property.
Cheers!

@sgunhouse I'm talking about the prompt to enable them. Same goes for geolocation btw: popup that completely blocks the page from doing anything.

Make "desktop notifications" prompt less obtrusiveSuggestions and feature requests
Hi!
First time around since a while (was known as "serious" in the old my.opera.com).
Got a feature request that increasingly keeps bugging me: a ton of pages (especially crappy ones) want to send me desktop notifications and while the prompt is up, the page is blocked. So I would like to see two things here:
- make the notification itself less annoying / in your face. Just have an icon pop up at the right of the address bar where I can decide at any later point if I want to allow this page to send notifications or not (similar to how blocked popups are handled)
- do not block the page from doing anything (you can't even scroll or select text) while the notification is up
Thanks a bunch for listening
