Full screen works OK, but the status bar is not yet hidden.
On a small screen every pixel is precious.
Can this be fixed ?

RE: Location does not work in Opera AndroidOpera for Android
I tried it again, but to no avail.
I set Location to both 'High accuracy' and 'Device only', but in both cases it did not work with Opera on more sites. When I tried the same with Brave, it worked flawlessly.
And I have granted Opera access to location services.
So there should be another thing which I have not enabled in Opera.
I have enabled 'Desktop site' to prevent some websites showing limited WAP pages and disabled Data saver.
Location does not work in Opera AndroidOpera for Android
OS: Android 8.0 Oreo
Huawei Mate 9
Opera version 46.3.2246
Ad-blocker is enabled
Data savings: not enabled
Positioning is not recognized in Opera,
- Enable location service on the device
- Allow Opera to access location service
- Open a website which uses location (e.g. wego.here.com)
- Let calculate a route and it will show a prompt for 'Your location'
- Click on that green spot
- Opera will prompt whether 'wego.here.com' is allowed to get your location. Click on 'yes'.
Then nothing appens, even no error message. The same with other websites, e.g. Google maps.
Other browsers (Firefox, Brave) find the location on these sites.
Location service does not workOpera for Android
On Android Oreo 8.0 and Opera 46 (and 45 has this as well) I notice the problem that location is not recognized in a website.
I have allowed location permission for Opera, enabled location services on the device and when a website needs my location it asks for permission which I consent.
But the location cannot be found. No error message, nothing, it just does not fill in anything.
Other browsers on the same device (Firefox, Chrome, Brave) have no problems.

Opera opens pages in new tab with Mobile user agentOpera for Android
Since Opera 41, Opera opens webpages opened from another page always in mobile mode, i.e. the user agent string contains 'Android', which results in limited WAP pages on some websites.
When I open a page as new from the browser itself (typing a URL or from history or bookmarks , the page opens in normal web mode.
But from another page it opens a link always in mobile mode.
Can this be fixed ?
RE: New version of Opera for Android with UI overhaulOpera for Android
Opera 42.0 still issues mobile websites on some sites while the user agent is in desktop mode, while other browsers show the full site for the same website. This bug occurs since opera 41.0.
E.g flyertalk.com, flightaware.com. In 2017 this is not needed anymore as modern tablets and smartphones work normally with full sites, particularly when they are responsive.
Mobile sites are sooo 2003 as these are limited WAP sites.
Can there be an option that the user sets the user agent by a self-defined string to avoid those WAP sites ?
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/55.0.2883.91 Safari/537.36 OPR/42.0.2246.112628
RE: Opera 37 releasedOpera for Android
It appears that Adblock is combined with data savings.
This results that Adblock cannot be used alone which results in the fact that all data goes via the Opera servers. With data savings, this is inevitable, but Adblock alone can be done locally as happens on the computer versions of Opera.
So why can this this not be enabled without data savings enabled on Android ?
RE: FULLSCREEN Options, Please !Opera for Android
When you have Android 4.4 or higher, install GMD Immersive. This allows any app to use real full screen.
The only catch is that by default, all apps go to full screen, but you can switch it off on a per-app basis. And when it is full screen in Opera, the Keyboard does not work, but swiping from the right, disables full screen for a few seconds to allow popping up the keyboard. Then with the keyboard on you can type text.
Dragging in Opera MobileOpera for Android
Many sites have dragging options particularly sites with embedded Google Maps such as Wikimapia, or an online sky viewer such as www.wikisky.org.
But with Opera it is impossible to drag within the map. Many website makers do not take touchscreens in account. So the browser makers might help with the acceptation of using existing websites on a touchscreen browser without using the usually limited functionality of so-called 'mobile' websites.
Yes, I know, a touchscreen does not know how to handle finger swipe events are it mouse moves, scrolls or drags ??
A solution can be a two (or even three) finger swipe. Three fingers can be optional als two fingers are 'already' used for pinch but I think that does not bother it as some apps (not browser) have this combination.
- Swiping with one finger : usual scroll / pan behavior.
- Swiping with two/three fingers : dragging a map (or a drag & drop website).
- Pinching with two fingers: zoom in the website overview as usual.
- Pinching with three fingers (i.e. keeping two fingers on one side and moving a 3rd finger relative to the other two) : zoom within an embedded map.
Then Opera will be the first browser to handle all websites with dragging, embedded map scrolling and zooming adequately.
