Actually the latest update appears to have finally fixed this issue.

No I haven't yet but I am going to. I'm actually going to follow your instructions above to fix it using JSONedit first though.
Just saying I appreciate the effort.

You are awesome. Where's the tip jar? Or Opera should be paying you at least. Thanks!

@rek65536 said in Latest Opera Update breaks essential (Ctrl+Shift+Home/End) Windows shortcuts:
It cannot be said that it was fixed, Opera must come with a full-fledged fix which modifies the preferences accordingly during an update, without requiring any user intervention. Please realise that most of the users don't know what is the cause of issues on their PC because the issue affects other programs, so they have no idea how to fix it.
If this issue is not going to be fixed, it is a very good reason to uninstall Opera to prevent further issues.Yeah I tend to agree. "Fixing" something shouldn't require an average user with no interest or time to understand the underlying workings of Opera to start messing around with advanced settings.
I can imagine there is a significant number of very frustrated people out there who can't figure out why basic functionalities are broken across programs. This is a major issue that Opera has to address sooner rather than later.
It's a shame because Opera really was the best browser by far.

Thanks for your help, I really do appreciate it.
I don't have time to figure that out so I guess it is goodbye Opera until this actually gets fixed in a reasonable manner.
It's unfortunate that Opera has broken this functionality for everyone, or at least every Windows user. It's not really acceptable, especially since it is affecting programs globally.

So if I uninstall Opera and reinstall it, it will be fixed? I don't really have the time to figure out editing the preferences file or whatever.

Is this ever going to get fixed? Breaking critical functions outside of the Opera browser is problematic at best

Hi
I really like Opera and want to continue to use it, but it eliminates the ability to use commands such as control + shift + end and control + shift + home in other programs.
If you shut down the video handler extension these commands work again.
Could you please fix, I use these commands dozens of times a day and this is a really annoying bug.
I'll give it another week but then I'm just going to uninstall, it's too annoying to deal with.

RE: Booking.com ad in omnibar breaking basic functionalityOpera for computers
Still continuing. NY seems to have been fixed, Washington no, "the" no.
I don't know if this is a mistake or not but one more day and I'm going to Chrome.

@ernie Ah I see, I just posted on this today too. Big problem.

Booking.com every timeOpera for computers
I am confused, as of today no matter what I type in the address bar I end up on Booking.com unless I actively use the down arrow to select the website.
Example: If I type "th" the address bar autocompletes it as "thehill.com" which is where I want to go.
But if I just press return, it goes to booking.com.
Google is selected as my search engine.
