RE: Opera 74 StableBlogs
@leocg We know as well, that Vivaldi is for now a Desktop beast mainly, but Opera's dozen ramifications penetrate smartphone world swamps. There are no sensible/sizable teams which might use their times for every Opera type, as well. So the development goes small steps once in a week ("if weather allows" - sarcasm), plumbing/patching the f***/pathetic holes/bugs as soon as possible and leaving for real development in strides too less time.
I have no illusions and high hopes now. The most salient issues are not being resolved (e.g. Snapshot Left Shift) due to lack of manpower (pardon Ladies - due to human powers). So the much needed, other issues, e.g. aesthetic trifles have even worse future - the Opera's lofty priorities are the Kings in Opera dev premises nowadays, alas.
Anyway, I see very good features being implemented from time to time. That's why I love Opera and see no competition for it yet.
The bad side of the coin is that sooner or later the Opera Desktop management will probably face a wall of short resources and effects of shortsightedness - a sad fact to us, if they have happened, especially for the diehard desktop users.
I do not want to elaborate on the infamous lack of real feedback from Opera, which is tantamount to recklessness - to put it in few short words.
Hope? Has it any valid meaning against such bad looking background?
Have nice nights and days users.

RE: Can Opera browser desktop add options for tab hibernation and tab grouping for heavy users in-built?Suggestions and feature requests
@sevic I fully agree with your points. I'm very thankful for your thorough explanations, as well. Yes, I overlooked the old Opera stacks, albeit I used the browser back in Time fascinated by "multi window canvass" solution (sort of tiles).
What worries me deeply is the "Bond's standard procedure" aka answer from Opera forums main moderator - "if Chromium has it so Opera will have". Substitute his words with whatever you like (expletives are allowable).

RE: Opera 74 developerBlogs
@leocg Thanks. Let me illustrate for better understanding.
[Fig. 1] Previous Opera dev release
[Fig. 2] Latest Opera dev release
Fig. 2 shows fully dropped down list of Workspaces menu. Why is it not a folded menu item? What if I had used all 24 workspaces?

RE: Workspace - count indicatorSuggestions and feature requests
@andrew84 I'm all for the feature, but I like aesthetic solutions. The less words, the more informative. We all know Workspaces keep tabs and nothing more.
So "with X tabs" is redundant. Simply alone X should suffice. But..
Let it be for example:
Workspace 3 - 5
Workspace 3 / 5
Workspace 3 | 5
Workspace 3 (5)
Workspace 3 [5]
etcI always changed names of all my workspaces to be more informative so I was shifting the numbers to the first places. The best solution to the count number yet it'd be to use # for tabs number. Selection of separation mark(s) should be left to the user. Thus you might define your tooltips more freely.
Example:
Workspace 3 | #However If you moved workspace number to the first place you'd have more aesthetic options.
3 Workspace - #
4 Workspace / #
5 Workspace | #
6 Covid (#)
7 Weather [#]
etcThe hash will be changed to the real number by Opera itself.

"Help us" AND "create a better" working environment finishing unfinished issues and cleaning old dusty Opera corners!

Why you need to synchronize two windows and how?
Workspaces - synchronize windows' slides
Workspaces - desynchronize show/hide options
Workspaces - desynchronize icons -
Vertical lines in Sidebar windows are not movable
Bookmarks page has hidden movable border line
Some vertical division lines on setting pages are not movable -
Sidebar opening/closing windows is inconsistent
Sidebar - total mishmash
Changing website's order via drag'n'drop, failed. -
Up the ante of Opera effectiveness
Open thumbnails too in directory with images
Opera does not play playlists (*.pls) -
"Left shift" bugs
Snapshot makes screenshots with left shift
Opera 74.0.3870.0 developer update - Snapshot's left shift
Site panels from Sidebar opens windows wrongly
After the polishing phase you will turn the table to the original position and WE will move ahead together again.

RE: Can Opera browser desktop add options for tab hibernation and tab grouping for heavy users in-built?Suggestions and feature requests
Why people do like to copy Vivaldi solutions here I do not understand. Use the damn Vivaldi if you so much cherish and like, not paying real attention to the Workspaces solution. Stacking in Vivaldi is the least productive option I've met for many years.
Workspaces are far more visionary and efficient than the ungainly Vivaldi's Stack. But one has to have the deep need to use Opera with all it offers (as it is now), not turning to another wishful thinking list and trying to change Opera into Vivaldi Bis.

Why the Pin is global for ALL Sidebar windows?Opera for computers
Why the Pin option in pop-right Sidebar windows is global for all Sidebar windows?!
I was testing latest Changelog entries for newest Opera Stable and I pinned Player (Opera Dev). I forgot to unpin that window, then I opened one website from the Custom site panels and it happened to be pinned, as well!
The Pin option needs to work independently.

RE: Aliexpress promotion in sidebar and start pageOpera for Windows
@Lord-Blizzard Opera is slowly sliding down to a gutter forcefully pushing on our Desktops new c__p. Instead of asking us and/or adding two new items to Settings, Opera Team has created in previous releases few patches (embedded backdoor code) enabling itself to flood us or litter our browser with unwanted s__t.
Without our consent. Polish coders without Polish understanding of freedom. Bad news is developing...

RE: Add <Music Service> to Sidebar Player TopicSuggestions and feature requests
@SilentHugOfDoom I'm afraid Player was created for Big Fat Cats. It lacks such services like Yandex.Music, or Deezer.
For example, Polish Radio serves its streams in one Polish Radio Player. Excellent source to be implemented in Opera Player.
All radio stations offering one stream might be placed in Custom site panels (CSP). The bad news is the limit - CSP can keep 5 website only.

Move selected tabs to new/other windowSuggestions and feature requests
Very important productivity option.
I'm using two windows daily recreating semi Total Commander / Midnight Commander layout (of any commander). Both have 7 workspaces with the same icons, but other names and contents. WS3s are used as communication areas with Opera forums. I need to move my tabs from one window to the second one and vice versa, sometimes (well, rather frequently). Not having the option (named in title) I have to think first where to start opening new tabs, but thinking out it in advance is not always possible.
Either it be done via drag'n'drop, or context menu (preferred) is not so important. What is salient point, is availability of the option!
P.S. The only way to make up for lack of the option is to select the tabs I want to read then use context menu to click Save tabs as Speed Dial folder and close them (Ctrl+W - Close the tabs). Next move the focus to the WS you use and open new Folder in it. Due to the fact that the Speed Dial aka Opera cach is common for all Opera windows!
I've learned by the way that the context menu for saving selected tabs originally Save all tabs as Speed Dial folder changes its name to Save tabs as Speed Dial folder (without all). It's obvious that the other menu should be named Save selected tabs as Speed Dial folder.
What a mess! All over Opera such bombs/mines are placed yet. Why Opera browser is not being finished yet in 100%?

RE: Split windowSuggestions and feature requests
@sumitkawal This option was introduced to experimental Opera Neon. It's not a problem then. Why is it not a part of Opera yet? The answer should be addressed to Opera Management Department, alas.

RE: Add <Music Service> to Sidebar Player TopicSuggestions and feature requests
@okumo Well, it does not. I have despondent feelings we will achieve nothing, playing Cat and Mouse with Opera in Suggestions and feature requests (SFR) playground. You can and you may write whatever you want, but I'm afraid the SFR chapter is sort of relief valve only. You will get no feedback, you will receive no yes or no in return, you will hear neither thanks, nor damn you (aka how dare you) - this users space is a perfect void or echo chamber (if someone will step in and support you with +1). Do not expect to be a player in sorta beauty contest. Likes are banished (good) as no one will care what is more demanded. We, I mean - you and many others (me too) - are constantly tossing a coin with small hope we will win new Opera feature. That's how it goes on here. Try it, but without illusions.

RE: General Suggestions and Requests Topic - Opera for DesktopsSuggestions and feature requests
@pschirki I'm a bit retarded. Would you mind share your views in more understandable details?
- Do you mean log-ins as profiles?
- Do you mean log-ins as Opera accounts?
- Do you mean log-in to, ekhm..., to what?
- Do you mean asking for "multiple log.ins":
1st workspace -> 1st profile = 1st account
2nd workspace -> 2nd profile = 2nd account
3rd workspace -> 3rd profile = 3nd account
...
or
1st workspace -> 1st profile = 1st account
2nd workspace -> 1st profile = 2nd account
3rd workspace -> 1st profile = 3nd account
...
or
1st workspace -> 1st profile = 1st account
2nd workspace -> 2nd profile = 1st account
3rd workspace -> 3rd profile = 1st account
P.S. I used 5" diskettes.

RE: General Suggestions and Requests Topic - Opera for DesktopsSuggestions and feature requests
@pschirki Thanks. Anyway I'm still in fog of possibilities.
I had three accounts of Yandex services once. I cannot envision any hindrance today, to open them in 1 workspace or every account in one different workspace.
What your suggestion might bring into your habits of your work or improved efficiency in dealing with such monstrous number of accounts?.
Do you mean logical isolation of accounts? In what way? Similar to the Containers implemented in Firefox browser?
I'm open for all improvements to the idea of multiple workspaces as it is a truly brilliant one. You may open 24 of workspaces distributed in many windows as you like (n WS x 24). I use two or four (for testing purpose) windows on one screen as for now. Every window is populated with 6 WSs. Each of them can open different pages, despite the same workspace icons.
If Google discovers the same IP so what? Yandex knew my IP, it knew that the three accounts of mine were opened from the same place and the same PC. Nothing. It worked.
There is a requests for unique bookmark pools for every workspace. I'm not for it, but I accept that idea. Multiplying features, or in reality - increasing unnecessary complication of Opera application, isn't the best path for Opera improvement. In other words - I like to have a clear view of well proved rationale.
Summing up - I do not understand your idea.
Have a nice time!

RE: General Suggestions and Requests Topic - Opera for DesktopsSuggestions and feature requests
@pschirki Nice of you, thanks.
- Up to the time when the Firefox upper echelon declared the war on free speech I was using Firefox with two excellent extensions:
a) Firefox Multi-Account Containers which encapsulated pages efficiently, fending off peepers and other Big Social Hookers from gathering our data,
b) Simple Tab Groups which excellently copied Opera's Workspaces.
They work together and intertwined. They are able to create sort of Software Rolodex of Workspaces. Imagine you have a knob (Opera Sidebar) which you twiddle up or down and new row of tabs (Workspaces) appears in your view in a browser. Read carefully the extensions' descriptions.
That's what you should touch, learn and apply into your working/playing environment. As I said - Firefox censorship and my understanding of free "whatever" are light years apart.
