Linux repo is downOpera for Linux
Hey guys! I updated to Opera 52.0.2871.97 yesterday. Now the repo is down/broken.
Can you fix it? Thanks!!
Linux Mint 18.3 Cinnamon 64-bit.
(side note: it would be cool if we could put pictures into our posts. I had to upload this screenshot to my webspace and then link to it above. Not everybody has their own website where they can host pictures.)
Sandboxing doesn't play nice with NVidia drivers >390Opera for Linux
Hello, dev team! Starting with NVidia's 390.25 driver, there have been numerous issues in Opera and other Chromium browsers. There's a long and detailed thread about it here:
The NVidia team says they have an internal bug about this, and the number is 2076012. No idea how to see that bug though, I couldn't find their bug tracker using Google.
Currently, us Linux users need to run Opera with the --no-sandbox flag to work without issues. Apparently, the bug has already been fixed in Chromium, so I hope you can get the fix in soon! Thanks
Alt+Space doesn't open new search bar, but Linux context menuOpera for Linux
Hello, Opera dev team! I like the new search feature you implemented in 52.0.2871.97. However, on Linux, Alt+Space opens a program's Minimize/Maximize/Move.....Close context menu.
Workaround: Ctrl+Space to open Tab search, then press Tab to switch to search engine search.
RE: Opera doesn't remember window size and position if it was closed without any tabs (except Speed Dial) on Linux MintOpera for Linux
I can confirm this issue happens on my PC as well. Linux Mint 18.3, 64-bit.
Inspector/Developer Tools always open maximizedOpera for Linux
Hey devs! This seems like a trivial problem, but it can get pretty annoying for somebody who uses the Inspector (aka Developer Tools) often. Every time I open the Developer Tools, which I have set to open in a separate window, they launch maximized, covering my browser window.
Having to resize the dev tools window every time is becoming a real nuisance real fast and unnecessarily slows down my work.
Any chance Opera could remember the size of the Inspector window in the future?
Opera crashes Gnome ShellOpera for Linux
Hey, dev team! Opera has been causing a lot of crashes on my system lately (Ubuntu 17.10, Xorg - not Wayland). I don't know how to reproduce the bug, it seems random, but here's how it behaves.
When switching to Opera from another window, or when opening a new Opera window (not launching the browser, but opening a new window), or when selecting a running instance of Opera from the Application overview, the whole Ubuntu UI freezes in place. I can still move the mouse cursor and my PC continues working, e.g. music or videos keep playing, but the UI is frozen and unresponsive. The clock in the top bar tops ticking, too. It's like a screenshot.
The only fix I have found is pressing my computer's reset button.
I wasn't able to find any pattern to this, but it always happens when I do something with Opera.
Can you try to address this bug? I love Opera, but I'm gonna have to go back to Firefox for the time being. I hope I can return to this browser soon.
