Opera 57.0.3098.110 (found in Ubuntu Software), but anyway what I want to know is how to disable geolocation in Opera under Linux/Ubuntu. I've seen several posts in internet, but the solution given is not available in Ubuntu, so how do I disable it? I remembered that during install, the apps asked me if I want it enabled, and I said no, and recently it started ask again, and the worst of all is the pop up shows every few minutes.

New Opera install for Ubuntu 16.04 questionOpera for Linux
Hi:
I just installed Opera through command line (wget -qO- https://deb.opera.com/archive.key | sudo apt-key add -, echo "deb https://deb.opera.com/opera-stable/ stable non-free" | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/opera-stable.list, sudo apt-get update, sudo apt-get install -y opera-stable), installation went smoothly, but after open it, I noticed the menu and Opera icon on the left top of the screen are missing, therefore I can't see which version is mine, and also the menu is missing too. Am I the only one? Others are having similar problem? My Windows 8.1 uses Opera 55 and is fine, how can I install older version in Ubuntu 16.04? Thanks for your reply. -
RE: Ubuntu 18.04 how to transfer speed dial/bookmark... from Windows to Ubuntu?Opera for Linux
@internaut I just tested by using export function in Opera and imported into FF in Linux, it seems all the groupings are kept. I tried to use Opera in Ubuntu, but had several problems with it (difficulty to install Flashplayer, computer freezes for few seconds when some sites trying to open ads by opening additional browsers, etc.), so I guess I'll using FF instead of Opera in Ubuntu (I opened the same sites in FF and it did not freeze!).

RE: Ubuntu 18.04 how to transfer speed dial/bookmark... from Windows to Ubuntu?Opera for Linux
As I said, using sync all my groupings and orders are lost, I have to do it one by one, so there's not much difference than create one from scratch, which defeats the purpose of sync. It seems to me that sync was designed for users who started from scratch, and increases the numbers of speed dial slowly, but when someone has a vast amount of speed dial/bookmark, the sync will just flat out all the bookmark/speed dial, making the grouping much more difficult.

Ubuntu 18.04 how to transfer speed dial/bookmark... from Windows to Ubuntu?Opera for Linux
I was a Windows user, just installed Ubuntu 18.04 on my pc with a dual boot (Win 8.1 & Ubuntu 18.04), I have these questions:
- is it possible to share Opera profile between Ubuntu & Win? if so, how? I can't find the answer on the net, maybe I'm not looking at the right place.
- if not possible, how can I transfer my profile in Windows to Ubuntu? what's the location where Opera saves the profile?
ps: I tried sometime ago to use export/sync, the problem with it is that all the groupings and order are lost, so you have to redo it all over again.
TIA

RE: Default search engine displays all the results in SpanishOpera for Windows
Sorry, under Settings > Websites > Location > Ask me when a site tries to track my physical location (recommended) was selected, now I changed it to Do not allow any site to track my physical location.
Also, under Manage Exceptions there's one entry: https://www.google.es:443, and under Behavior shows block, so I assume it'll block Google ES to track me, right?

RE: Default search engine displays all the results in SpanishOpera for Windows
I don't remember allowing it, but you never know, those crappy sites are sneaky, they install/enable it by using small prints or during updates.
Sorry, I don't have sites under setting, when I click on settings (right side bottom) in google search, I have the following options:
Search settings
Advanced search
History
Search help
Send feedback
but no Sites, if I can attach a screenshot, I can show you what I meant, are you using Windows 10? It shouldn't matter which OS, it's in the browser. -
RE: Default search engine displays all the results in SpanishOpera for Windows
Can you please tell me how to disable Google's geolocation? I've tried cache and cookies to no avail. As far as I know, Google won't let you change it, I've tried also change settings, and also useless, everytime you shut down the pc, it goes back to Spanish, it's like a nightmare that never goes away.

RE: Default search engine displays all the results in SpanishOpera for Windows
Here goes one more unhappy Google user, I'm replacing Google with DuckDuckGo, tired of doing things their way, regardless of user feedback, already dropped gmail, now it's Google search, Google will be the next MS!!!!

RE: Default search engine displays all the results in SpanishOpera for Windows
That's right, I'm using Google, and already tried to use google.com, it changed EVERY SINGLE time to google.es.
Yes, I'm using Notepad++ for editing, after changed the file, went back to confirm, and it showed location":{"country":"us","countryfromserver":"US", which I assume the change is accepted, but still when I try to do a search, Spanish google came up and not in US, what else can I do?
Yes, the preference has been changed too.
